Background
Bhalla Dairy Farm, having cattle population of 350 numbers, is located at a remote site from Satna city, Madhya Pradesh. The farm has milk collection of 5,000 litres/day that is chilled, stored and sold. Farm operations including machine milking, chop cutter and pumps are fully mechanized and require uninterrupted electricity supply.
The biggest problem faced by dairy owner Mr. Sanjeev Bhalla was frequent failure of grid supply, requiring a standby DG set. High energy bills along with manure disposal costs encouraged him to set up a biogas-based power plant.
Solution Implemented
Shreyans Energy executed a biogas-based captive power plant on CSTR technology — making the dairy owner completely self-dependent on power generated from animal manure. The treated slurry from the biogas plant is dried and further treated by vermicompost, creating an additional income source.
