Solar Commercial System — How It Works

This page explains the schematic arrangement of the Solar Commercial Hot Water System installed by Shreyans Energy for hotels, hospitals and industrial clients.

How the Solar Commercial System Works

Cold water enters the main storage tank and circulates through the solar collector panels. An automatic differential temperature controller monitors the temperature difference between the collector and the storage tank, and generates a command to start the circulation pump during sunshine hours — maximising solar energy capture.

Continuous Hot Water Distribution

A separate circulation circuit keeps hot water continuously moving through the distribution network — ensuring continuous and instant availability of hot water at every utility point throughout the building, at any time of day or night.

Auxiliary Heating Backup

Heat losses during circulation in long pipe runs are compensated by an auxiliary heating tank fitted with a 3.0 KW immersion heater. This ensures hot water availability even on cloudy days or after sunset, without relying on large and expensive backup systems.

System Features Summary

FeatureBenefit
Auto Differential Temperature ControllerMaximises solar energy capture automatically
Forced circulation pumpUniform heating across all collectors
Continuous distribution loopInstant hot water at every tap point
3 KW auxiliary heaterBackup on cloudy days — minimal electricity use
Modular designCapacity expandable as needs grow
Auto controlsNo manual intervention needed

Applications

  • Hotels — hot water for guest bathrooms, laundry and kitchen
  • Hospitals — sterilisation and patient bathing
  • Industrial — boiler feed water pre-heating, process hot water
  • Hostels & Institutions — centralised hot water for large populations
  • Restaurants — cooking water at up to 80°C
Commercial Viability: Payback period less than 3 years on capital investment. After payback, hot water is available at zero fuel cost for 20+ years.
